About The Augury Society

Founded in 2015, The Augury Society is a non-profit organization built on a simple belief: fine spirits are best experienced together. What began as an idea—to create a space where Scotch, Irish whiskey, and other whiskies could be explored without barrier—has grown into a community centered on shared experience and discovery.

For many, exploring whisky can be difficult, often requiring the purchase of a full bottle before knowing if it suits one’s palate. The Augury Society exists to remove that barrier, creating opportunities for members and guests to taste, compare, and learn in a welcoming, communal environment. We bring together individuals from all backgrounds and levels of experience, fostering connection through curiosity, conversation, and a shared appreciation for the craft.

Our Mission

The Augury Society exists to cultivate a deeper understanding and appreciation of Scotch, Irish whiskey, and other fine whiskies through shared experience, education, and community. We seek to broaden knowledge of these spirits—their history, traditions, and methods of distillation—while encouraging exploration beyond what is typically available.

We are less concerned with labels, age statements, or prestige, and more focused on the experience itself. Each whisky offers something unique, and we believe its true value lies in how it is perceived, discussed, and shared. Through tasting, conversation, and discovery, we aim to engage with whisky in a meaningful way—one that goes beyond the glass.

What We Do

Through curated tastings, private events, and educational gatherings, The Augury Society creates a place where whisky is explored with intention. Here, tradition meets community—where a dram can be contemplative or celebratory, personal or shared.

At its core, The Augury Society is about more than whisky. It is about the people who gather, the knowledge exchanged, and the experience created together.
